Chinmoy Krishna Das's bail suspended
The Chamber Judge of the Appellate Division has suspended the bail granted by the High Court to former ISKCON leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari in a sedition case.
Chamber Judge Justice Md. Rezaul Haque issued the suspension order just a few hours after the High Court granted him bail on Wednesday (April 30) .
Earlier on the same day, a High Court bench comprising Justice Md. Atowar Rahman and Justice Md. Ali Reza granted bail to Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, declaring a previously issued rule regarding his bail as valid.
Later in the afternoon, Advocate-on-Record Helal Amin filed a petition with the Chamber Judge of the Appellate Division seeking a suspension of the bail order.
Lawyer Apurba Kumar Bhattacharya represented Chinmoy Krishna Das in court, while Additional Attorney General Barrister Anik R. Haque appeared on behalf of the state.
