DU students block Shahbagh demanding KUET VC's resignation

Students from various educational institutions including Dhaka University have 'blocked' Shahbagh intersection demanding the resignation of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) Vice-Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Masudur Rahman.

Some students blocked Shahbagh at 10:30pm on Tuesday. Later after 11 pm, several hundred more students joined them.

Earlier, students gathered in front of Bijoy Ekattor Hall of Dhaka University at 10pm. The students were seen chanting slogans like 'DU's action, direct action', 'One demand, broker Masud's resignation', etc.

Traffic movement through Shahbagh intersection has been stopped due to the blockade.

The students said that they will lift the blockade if the administration or the government gives assurances about the removal of the KUET vice-chancellor. They will announce their next programme within one to one and a half hours in case of no response.
