'Gyansangi Srijan Festival-2025' held in Dhaka
The 'Gyansangi Srijan Utsab-2025' was held on the occasion of the Bengali New Year at the Biswa Sahitya Kendra in Dhaka on Tuesday through various events. There were different events at different stages of the festival. There was the distribution of the 'Gyansangi Art-Literature Award 2025'.
Poets, writers, reciting artists, painters, college and university teachers and social workers from various districts including the capital Dhaka were present at the event.
Gyansangi, a national literary organization, has been promoting Bengali literary culture through its publishing wing, Gyansangi Publications. In 2025, a total of 16 individuals were honored with the 'Gyansangi Art and Literature Award 2025' in various categories. Among them, Parvez Babul received the award for his research on women's empowerment and the environment.
In the poetry category, Shamima Nice, Ruhul Quddus, Mir Abdur Razzak, Muhammad Alkama Siddiqui, and Shamsul Bari Utpal were awarded. In fiction, Pushpen Roy and Dewan Masud Rahman received the honor, while Renu Ahmed was recognized in the short story category.
In recitation art, the awardees were Bidhan Chandra Roy, Kaniz Afroz Reena, and Shishit Kumar Biswas. Rafi Haque was honored in the fine arts category. Bidhura Dhar and Niloy Biswas were recognized as best organizers, and Masud Mahatab received the award for social work.
In addition, several individuals received the 'Gyansangi Art and Literature Incentive Award 2025'. The event also saw the unveiling of a poetry collection titled Abrittir Samakalin Kobita, published by Gyansangi Publications and edited by Bidhan Chandra Roy.
The entire program was vibrant with poetry readings, recitations, and speeches from distinguished guests. It was conducted by renowned reciter Zahan Bashir and presided over by veteran poet Imroz Sohel.
