Salman F Rahman, Anisul Huq placed on fresh remand
A Dhaka court has granted varying periods of remand in connection with a murder case filed over the anti-discrimination movement for Salman F Rahman, former adviser to Sheikh Hasina; Anisul Huq, former law minister; and Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, former Inspector General of Police.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Jamsed Alam issued the order on Wednesday following a petition submitted by the investigation officers.
In a murder case filed with Jatrabari Police Station, a seven-day remand was sought for former IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun. Dhaka Metropolitan Public Prosecutor Omar Faruq Faruqi presented the remand petition, while the former police chief's lawyer, Abbas Uddin, appealed for its cancellation.
After the hearing, the judge granted a three-day remand for both Salman and Mamun, and a two-day remand for Anisul.
